Interview with June Harrison from Feng Shui Scotland
Feng Shui Scotland aims to promote Feng Shui as a significant feature of 21st century living.
Feng Shui Scotland was established by June Harrison in 1998 to provide a professional service to people and businesses at affordable prices. Her aim was to make Feng Shui accessible for all rather than for a few.
Joan; Hi June and welcome to Evolved State, can I begin by asking you about your background and what lead you into Feng Shui [FS]?
June; It started when I was travelling South East Asia and Hong Kong in 1990 and when I was introduced to it originally it was a hobby but, the more I got into it the more I could see that this was the path for me. At that time I was working in Social Work which with the help of [FS] I was able to give up in 2006 and this became my full time work . I started [FS] Scotland in 1998 but was able to work at this full time since 2006 along with many other complimentary therapies that is now my focus.
Joan; can you explain the foundations of [FS] to us?
June; [FS] is not just Chinese it goes back to many ancient people and times e.g. the people at stone henge, and the standing stones in Lewis used [FS] at that time it was called Geomancy when the stars, topography and many other methods of divination were used for the outside of buildings, where and when to plant crops. This is known as Form school. All in all there are about 8 different schools of Feng Shui and I use mainly three of them specifically the Form,Compass and the 3 gate method.
Joan; how and where has [FS] excelled?
June; well, if I look at one section then there was a period when 3 people came to me to get help in finding the right partner. Two of them are now married and one is living with her partner and they met them within 3 months of making the changes I had suggested. An example might be that I asked them to put things in pairs in their home so, two sets of candle sticks, or two roses etc.
Joan; how do you define this?
June; I use what’s called the Bagua as a template which works from the front door of the house orientating it from there using the 3 gate method.
Joan; can you tell me how [FS] and astrology connect with each other?
June; in [FS] we use with the 3 gate method Nine Star Ki Astrology which uses the 5 elements; water, fire, wood, earth and metal. This makes up the elemental make up of an individual and the balance they need is achieved through Feng Shui .
Joan; in other words their characteristics?
June; yes. It is really just another way of looking at an individual using elemental balance rather than the astrological signs used in the West.
Joan; what new avenues do you plan to look at next?
June; I want to look more at things like, sacred geometry , and I have very recently been involved in the ascended masters and colour therapy to compliment the [FS]
Joan; what are the benefits of using [FS]?
June; well if you begin to clear out the clutter in your home getting rid of anything you do not love, like or use then this helps holistically in a health sense. What is classed as the centre of your home should have nothing in it or blocking it to keep the energy clear. Also, too much White in the home is a drain on your immune system.
For money, making sure that the water elements are clear e.g. no blocked drains, leaks and central heating is working.
Joan; I heard that you need to keep your toilet lid closed because if you don’t this flushes away your money. Is that correct?
June; yes. And for love you need to have pairs of things in the home such as; a pair of candle sticks together, 2 birds or hearts etc
Joan; what are your personal goals using [FS]?
June; I want to have a healing centre to provide all of my therapies and [FS] and that is what I am focusing on. Feng Shui helped me to give up my job to work at healing full time and I know it will help me in getting and attaining my new goal.
Joan; thank you june for your informative insight I am sure this will help many of our readers to have a deeper understanding of Feng Shui nad how it actually works.
