The Magic Of EFT
EFT is taking the world by storm, it has had so many success stories that even I wonder if there is anything else to write about it.
It was the brain child of American Gary Craig who discovered and adapted it while working with Dr Roger Callaghan as a student. At that time Callaghan had put together and delivered it as Thought Field Therapy [TFT] following many painstaking years in search of something that would have an instant result on his clients.
It works on two principles, firstly, meridian energy pathways in the body which are said to hold negative blocks and disturbed energy relating to various issues in our life. It works on the principle of Acupuncture with no needles where tapping is applied to the meridian energy points on the face and hands, by tapping on various points along these pathways; this creates a release of the problem for the client.
Secondly working on reverse psychology, as the client accepts there issue the energy is released and with it the problem. At this point the energy can now flow freely as it was intended to and client can resume a more normal state.
It is initially hard for the client to accept that the condition they arrived with has either diminished or in many cases gone completely. The therapy has been clinically tested and reported to have an 80 % - 90% success rate for clients.
The founding discovery statement is; “the cause of negative emotion is a disruption in the body’s energy system”. As such this means that no matter what the issue is it is held somewhere deep in the psyche of the bodies energy. Further by tapping on the various meridian points it releases the emotional depth and with it the superficial issue.
EFT has been getting more and more publicity in the UK with Paul McKenna using it and getting it out there into the public domain. One of the main reasons that EFT was discovered was a search to find something that would get to the root of emotional issues quickly and reduce if not eliminate them once and for all.
Since its discovery it has been used for all types of anxiety as well as physical ailments that stem from emotional disturbance in the body. It would appear to have no barriers or limitations in so much as, what it can be tried on. In fact its founder Gary Craig encourages that it be used for anything and everything. He encourages people to be sceptical of this simple technique that stops emotional issues in there tracks, but as we all know if it’s too simple surely it can’t work? Or can it? Well the only way to know is to try it for yourself.
I personally have been using it for some years now and have seen this amazing tool transform people’s lives in situations where they were held back and limited by various illnesses. In fact it works on anything from alcohol / drug addiction, skin conditions, mental and emotional disturbances, and all manner of children’s issues including abuse.
It even helps with fears like flying, not passing a driving test, phobias, and trauma. Initially Craig used it to help Vietnam War veterans who has suffered severe trauma and seen horrendous atrocities, it worked with amazing results. Within minutes some of the most hideous memories were easier to cope with and allowed the person peace and the ability to have a normal nights sleep without the flash backs and in-grained memories of the past.
Emotional issues can hold people back from reaching there highest potential and taking there life forward in a positive way. The limitations could range from areas such as; work, relationships, addictions, habits and childhood memories, even something that was said in the past can have lasting effects on the psyche.
By using tools like psychotherapy you can of course get to the bottom of things, however this can take time and the quicker that you are able to tackle the root cause then the quicker you get back into enjoying your life.
EFT has the power to tackle things head on and either reduce them considerably or in many cases eliminate them all together.
There is always a shift in the first session but depending on the severity of the problem it could take a couple of sessions to get to the real cause. It is my preference that the client will decide on what is best for them and after the first session it is up to them to decide if they need or want further sessions.
